There is a movie with a strange kid in it, a girl I believe. I can't remember the name of it.?

She wore a leather bomber helmet and goggles. She had what I'd call a "spitty" laugh and was the side kick or wanted to hang out with the main characters. I seem to remember the cast hanging out in a attic or something dusty and old.
