Why do pro life conservatives care about a fetus and not animals when animals think and a fetus doesn't?

Yes I do place human life above animal. A human has a mind and a brain. Some think a human has a soul as well. Lets reverse what you ask, if you are so determine that animals should NOT BE KILLED---------THEN WHY ARE YOU FOR ABORTION? Forget what i said, a fetus is an animal, but if one would cut out the calf out of the cow, he would be charges with animal cruelty,right? What is the difference?
