Why do they call people like Richard Dawkins "militant Atheists"?

Because he doesn't explain nicely but hurls insults at believers and mocks them. Doesn't mean his conclusions are wrong, but his manner is one I would also categorize as militant. It's good to have a variety of approaches though; I enjoy reading Dawkins although like a previous poster I do find him arrogant at times.
