Should I tell his family?

I haven't seen my kid's father since I was 6 months pregnant and haven't got a response from him in over a year. My son is 2, and yes he pays support, though I don't need it- it's all in the bank for him. I may be forced to transfer to the east coast with my job, and i'd hate to have to leave my son 40 hrs away with my family in CA, when his dad lives and has family 4 hrs from where I may have to go. I know we weren't serious, and I know he doesn't want his family to know that he has a son, but I think my son should have some family especially male figures in his life. Otherwise I'll move away and see him about 2 times a year while he lives with my ex step-mom and half-sister who I rarely talk to as it is. quiting my job is not an option.
