Christian people where I live like to complain about fundamentalism. What is fundamentalism? Can they complain?

Religion is only for children and when grown ups who aren't wearing the proper clown costume try to pretend other grown ups should take religion as seriously as other kiddies fare, it's embarrassing for them.
