Need help.. basketball?

i live in pittsburgh and i play for a high school. im going into my sophomore year and i wanna know how to get more playing time. im not real tall and i wanna make jv next year. the varsity coach though has a son going into freshman year and it seems he is grooming him to play jv so by around his junior year he will start on varsity. there are only limited spots for the roster and i wanna know how to get playing time and make the team..
